These are the two sides of the same coin; infrastructure. The first one tells us that there’s a 74Bn market to build datacenters, the other tells us that the services provided by those datacenters are valued at 246Bn.

It’s worth mentioning that probably the usual suspects don’t fall through these data centre market value (Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Google), as they build their own things, but it’s still interesting to see that the cloud market is 3x bigger than building a datacentre.

We all know it’s about the service, not the kit, that companies and people are now looking for, but reminds me of “friends don’t let friends build datacentres” line, it’s simply not worth it.
